The "Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid" course is based on, and meets the requirements of the Ofsted* and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidelines** for people who work with, or look after, children, to enable them to have a basic knowledge of how to deal with emergency first aid situations. The course will give confidence and practice in the emergency life-saving techniques that are required in those first few minutes before professional help arrives, and includes some conditions/injuries that may occur when working with, or looking after children.
It is now a requirement, with the introduction of "Millie's Law"*** and "Millie's Mark"**** that all Level 2 and Level 3 qualified childcare staff hold a Paediatric First Aid qualification.
A Level 3 regulated qualification offers significant advantages over non-regulated courses. Course credits (2 credits for this course) can be placed directly onto your Personal Learning Record for easy credit transfer for those studying towards higher qualifications, such as qualifications in Childcare, and you are assured of a high quality in the delivery of the training due to the quality assurance processes in place. Ofsted and Local Authorities will recognise an Ofqual regulated qualification without any further approvals.
Our Paediatric First Courses are trained by fully qualified trainers, all of whom have many years experience in treating children and babies, and who have a vast experience in childcare settings and schools so that they can bring real life experiences to the training room. Our courses have a great deal of practical elements, so that learners can practice, and become comfortable with the skills they may have to use.
