What do you need to provide yourself to take part?

The course is mixture of practical work in the swimming pool, and classroom based activities. On each day of the course, you will need to bring with you:

  • A notepad/pen
  • Swimming trunks/costume - two or three sets are suggested as pool sessions may be sometimes several times during the day
  • T-Shirt and shorts (to be used in the pool during training - please note that pool chlorine can have a significant effect on clothing, so it is recommended you do not wear expensive items of clothing that you care about!)
  • Towels - again two or three are suggested to allow several sessions in the pool
  • Food/snacks - high energy food like banana's/pasta will be beneficial
  • A whistle if you have one (advice can be given on the choice of whistle either before or during the course)

Attendance for the entire period of the course is required - a minimum of 37.5 hours training must be completed before presentation for the final assessments. Please note that no refunds can be given for failure to attend all sessions, or failure in the final assessment. The course is costed at 37.5 hours tuition time - if further training is required to bring a student up to the required standards, this may be chargeable.
