CPD - Catastrophic haemorrhage - Haemostatic dressings and tourniquets
These sessions are aimed at first aid trainers so that they have an in-depth knowledge of the subject. The sessions will be delivered by an experienced Paramedic with military background.
The sessions are being provided free of charge to trainers by the very generous support and services of local First Aid and Medical Equipment suppliers, DS Medical, based in Fareham, and delivered by Celox Academy, who will be training and demonstrating their range of haemostatic products. DS Medical will also have a select range of their products on display, and expert advice available from representatives.
Learners will be taught the skills associated with rapid assessment of trauma injuries, packing techniques and stabilisation of trauma patients.
Free parking and refreshments.
The training includes both theory and practical sessions, designed to develop a good, all round understanding of trauma care and to stop external haemorrhage with Celox haemostatic products and tourniquets.
Proposed schedule of events for the session (subject to last minute changes due to unforeseen circumstances):
2 hours tuition time, not including registration and networking opportunities time.
Certificates of attendance will be issued following successful completion of this course.
The sessions are Qualsafe Awards endorsed, and should be recognised by all first aid awarding organisations.
